| Day 26 Reacts To Danity Kane’s Higher Album Sales |
Here’s what the guys in particularly Brian had to say about DK beating them out in album sales Brian’s comments are bolded in the full story: “Real talk, we did finish recording our album before Danity Kane, like two and half weeks before,” injects Brian. “Our album was originally supposed to come out March 11, but Diddy felt like we needed to go out on the road and promote our album more. So that’s the only reason Danity Kane came out before Day 26.” Day 26, debuted at #1 on the charts but their first week sales didn’t quite match up to those of their Bad Boy labelmates, Danity Kane. Danity Kane, Day26 Announce ‘Making the Band 4′ Tour Dates What’s the best way to celebrate back-to-back #1 Billboard album debuts? How about a national tour? That’s what Danity Kane and Day26 will do starting May 24 when they kick off “Making the Band 4 - The Tour,” which will hit major cities from coast to coast, beginning with a gig at Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre in Orlando, Florida and will be filmed for show’s next season. | Day 26 Battles Danity Kane |
After coming in with the number one album in the country last week, MTV “Making the Band” product, Day 26, stay in the Top 5 this week as their self-titled debut sold 50,900 copies, according to Nielsen’s SoundScan. The soul-singing quintet experienced a 73% decrease in album sales for the week with a 241,100 total. The group became the first new male group to open at No. 1 since D12’s debut in 2001 and grabbed the highest ranking for a debut album since Danity Kane’s first album entered No.1 in 2006. Danity Kane, slips three spots to No. 7 as Welcome to the Dollhouse sold 46,600 this week. The Making the Band starlets best the boys overall as they hit a grand total of 371,700. source: sohh |

The guys are #1 according to soundscan: Day26, claimed the #1 spot, debuting with week-one sales clocked at close to 190,000. Panic at the Disco, opened at #2 with 139,000 units sold, according to the latest SoundScan totals. Counting Crows claimed the #3 position, with 106,300. source: mtv |
