| Day 26 Reacts To Danity Kane’s Higher Album Sales |
Here’s what the guys in particularly Brian had to say about DK beating them out in album sales Brian’s comments are bolded in the full story: “Real talk, we did finish recording our album before Danity Kane, like two and half weeks before,” injects Brian. “Our album was originally supposed to come out March 11, but Diddy felt like we needed to go out on the road and promote our album more. So that’s the only reason Danity Kane came out before Day 26.” Day 26, debuted at #1 on the charts but their first week sales didn’t quite match up to those of their Bad Boy labelmates, Danity Kane. In this SOHH exclusive, we caught up with Brian, Big Mike, Que, Robert and Willlie, to discuss their defeat to DK, their thoughts on debuting at No. 1 and plans for the follow up single to their smash hit “Got Me Going.” (more…) |

Day 26 is made up of singers Brian Andrews, Mike McCluney, Qwanell “Q” Mosley, Robert Curry, and Willie Taylor. The group’s name comes from the date the five were chosen by hitmaker/starmaker Diddy and MTV viewers on the finale of “Making the Band 4″ - August 26. Their self-titled CD, powered by the first single, “Got Me Going,” was produced by production pro Mario Winans. “It’s banging - ridiculous,” Will said of the disc that dropped Tuesday. “People should have high expectations for the album because it’s definitely great to the ear.” “We’re bringing back R&B to where it used to be in the early ‘90s, like when Jodeci and Boyz II Men were around,” Brian added. “Some real sangin’ - not just singing, but sangin’.” (more…) |
