Houston singer Brian Andrews has gotten Diddy’s seal of approval. He was chosen tonight as one of the four final Making the Band 4 members to sprout from the MTV reality/talent show.

Diddy chose the quartet during a live finale from MTV’s Times Square studios. In typically dramatic fashion, it followed a taped cliffhanger episode that saw Diddy hedging between the remaining ten members.

Andrews cut his chops singing at church in the Acres Homes area. Before making the, um, band, he scored a major-label deal that eventually fizzled.

“I feel extremely blessed. I feel like I’m dreaming, man,” Andrews said during a post-show interview. “I don’t want to wake up.”

The new, all-male band’s early performances already sound better than anything screeched by Danity Kane, season three’s already-irrelevant girl group. The pop tarts made a blink-and-you’ll miss-it appearance on the finale, highlighted by a slew of forced smiles. Showstopper? Not even close.

Diddy’s newly formed R&B group should be hitting the airwaves soon with a single. A full disc and a tour will likely follow.

And nothing is confirmed, but expect a big homecoming for Andrews within the next few weeks. We’ll keep you posted.
