Que dismissed from Day 26

Posted on December 24 by Nette » Category: Articles, Day 26 » No comments

Ok well I am sure everyone has heard by now that Willie, Robert, Brian and Mike basically had their lawyer write up a statement to Que saying they no longer wished to work with him. I am sorry to see this happen but I was not all that surprised. Anyways here is the story:

The next time you see ‘Making the Band 4′ stars and award-winning group Day 26, they’ll be down one member !

Confirming rumblings of a split that first hit the net in November, Willie of Day 26 took to both Twitter and WGCI stating that he and fellow Day 26 members “tried” to keep Qwanell Mosley aka Que in the group before giving him walking papers this week.

“It’s funny how people can take sides in a situation without knowing the truth. We tried our a**es off to keep him the group,” Willie Taylor of the group that won its first BET Award for Best Group this year wrote on Twitter Friday. (more…)

MTV interview: Day 26 on the “label” switch

Posted on December 05 by Nette » Category: Day 26, Interviews, Video » No comments

Whatever label Diddy does business with, Day26 say they will always share a personal and professional bond with the man who made them famous.

“It really doesn’t affect us,” Willie Taylor said of Diddy’s trek from Atlantic Records to Interscope. “Diddy left to go to Interscope. Big up to Diddy-Dirty Money. Day26 is still Atlantic. We still have the blessings of Diddy. Anything we need from him, he’s like a big brother to us. The support is still there.

Day26 are in the midst of leaving Bad Boy Records, according to their spokesperson, but the guys say Diddy will most likely still be involved in their next album.

“He’s not gone,” Qwanell “Que” Mosley insisted. “He’s there if he wants it. He’s Diddy; we trust [his input]. He trusts us now to move on with our careers. It’s kind of like a blessing.”

The guys plan to handle the production side on many of their new songs.

“We gave you a sample on Forever in a Day,” Willie said of the group’s production skills. “If you read the credits, a lot of that is Day26. But we really wanna get in and zone out again, get the formula. We wanna go back to the Pentagons — they were amazing. Jazze Pha is amazing. [Bryan-Michael] Cox is amazing. We’re reaching out. Sean Garrett — the Pen. T-Pain. We’re gonna reach out. We’re gonna spread the wings, but I think the bulk of the album is gonna come from Day26.”

“Some artists we wanna work with are Jay-Z, Lil Wayne,” Que added. “Eminem is doing his thing. Kanye, Diddy-Dirty Money. We wanna get everybody. Anybody who has any skills, we wanna work with them.”

Day 26 leaves Bad Boy

Posted on November 26 by Nette » Category: Articles, Day 26 » 1 comment

According to aceshowbiz.com:

It has been confirmed that DAY26 who were handpicked by P. Diddy at the end of MTV’s “Making the Band 4″ are no longer at his label Bad Boy Records. “Bad Boy is always our family, but we’re with Atlantic right now,” one of the boyband’s members Willie Taylor told The BoomBox.

In further statement, Taylor explained about their determination to prove that they are more than just TV stars. “I think a lot of people lost it with the entertainment of the show. So now, we really want to show people what we’re all about, that we do our thing whether its on stage, in the studio, writing and producing — we do it all,” he gushed. (more…)
